Girls Recreational Level 1

Service Description

In the level 1 class they learn the first foundations of gymnastics. They will begin to work on strength, flexibility & balance for all four events. The floor goals are to be able to complete a handstand, cartwheel, round off & standing bridge to back kick over (or back-walkover). For bars they will work on building strength. They will work to master front support, casts & finally pullovers. Vault starts with runs to straight jumps off a springboard onto a mat. It will then work up to a handstand to flat back on a mat. Beam begins working them from ground, to low & then to high beam. They will work to become comfortable with various balance walks, forward, backwards, on toes etc. They will then work to do levers on beam as a foundation to handstands. After mastering these skills they are ready for level 2!
